The Vertolaye site, situated in the centre of the Livradois-Forez Regional Park, is an industrial unit of Aventis, one of the 10 largest pharmaceutical groups in the world.

Since 1939, the Vertolaye works has confirmed its know-how, and has built up a centre of excellence in the manufacture of active ingredients (the active substance in a medicine), but also in the final processing of products, such as the homogenisation and micronisation of powders.

This site employing 700 people and extending over 21 hectares, manufactures according to the strictest standards between 350 and 400 tonnes of active ingredients per year divided into about a hundred products distributed through the world.

The Vertolaye works has been ISO 14001 certified since 2000, this being an environmental standard guaranteeing that all precautions have been taken to ensure the respect of the environment and constant striving for improvement of environmental performance.
