Genie Vegetal® can be used to produce active proteins, that are economically more competitive, while ensuring maximum biological safety. MERISTEM® THERAPEUTICS' staff were the first to set up an industrial scale extraction-purification unit for therapeutic proteins derived from plants.

MERISTEM® offers drug firms an integrated research and manufacturing capacity extending from the identification of a gene to the final industrial purification of the protein of therapeutic value.

Its most advanced project is a gastric lipase intended to combat the digestive disorders occurring in cystic fibrosis. Several other products are currently at the pre-clinical or clinical trials stage.
