Laboratoires Thea, created in 1994 by Henri Chibret, is now the largest independent European laboratory in ophthalmology.

Installed in seven European countries (France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands), it also exports to more than 70 countries through local partnerships.

In 2003, all these activities accounted for a turnover of nearly 85 million euros and 102 million euros are forecast for 2004. Thea occupies a leading place in several therapeutic classes in the ophthalmological sector, including: dry eyes, allergy, herpes, eye hygiene and micro-nutrition. By means of its Abak® bottle, Thea is the world leader of preservative-free, multidose eye drops.

Research is the core of Thea's activities and most of its innovations have been derived from its own research efforts, or from collaboration with various partners.
