Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association
in Auvergne : G.I.M.R.A.

Auvergne is now in the forefront of French regions for its pharmaceutical industry.
The G.I.M.R.A, Nearly 40 members including academic and institutional partners (Faculty of Pharmacy, Clermont-Biopôle Limagne AEPIC [Association of Industrial Pharmacy Students]) and more than thirty five companies with several subsidiaries of groups representing a total 4,000 employees associated with the region. If in the G.I.M.R.A. all sectors of the life of a drug are represented in Auvergne, innovation is everywhere, in companies, but  also in collaborative initaitives with universities and research organizations, as illustrates byuOur many start-ups..

The G.I.M.R.A. goals:
- Promote exchanges and partnerships between members in respect of conduct and ethics;
- Promote the activities of our members by lobbying  local, departmental and regional authorities, chambers of commerce, Hospitals Administration , Social Security agencies and employers' associations;
- Develop cooperation with other organizations of health professionals as well as universities and other educational facilities and research.

Word from the President

The G.I.M.R.A.Groupement des Industries du Médicament de la Région Auvergne , brings together companies working in the field of health (human and veterinary drugs, food supplements, cosmetics, etc. ...)
The G.I.M.R.A. includes nearly 40 members ranging from start-ups to subsidiaries of large international groups through the European leaders in their field.

The strength of the drug industry in Auvergne is based on its ability to innovate and develop new concepts and products. This is possible through strong networking between industry and academia, through the Universities and public organizations (INSERM, CNRS and INRA).
